Prof. Michael Dewsnap graduated with a Master of Science in Education: Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education from Baylor University in Waco, Texas. While pursuing his degree Professor Dewsnap worked as an Academic Mentor in Academic Support Programs. As an Academic Mentor, he coached students and collaborated with support resources to help them enhance their study skills and balance the academic rigors of higher education. In addition to Professor Dewsnap's job responsibilities, he assisted the Academic Advisor for Referrals with streamlining the referral process, developing promotional material, and building connections with other units of the campus.

Professor Dewsnap's degree in Student Affairs Administration focused on the complexity of students and institutions of higher education. His coursework ranged from student development and organizational culture to assessment, designing learning environments, and law in higher education. Furthermore, his studies continued to build upon his foundational belief that students develop best when the environment is strategically utilized to provide the delicate balance of challenge and support.
