The Department of Nursing at Lehman College is one of twelve academic departments within the Division of Natural and Social Sciences. The Nursing program admitted its first students in 1971. The Department of Nursing offers undergraduate and graduate nursing programs and welcomes a culturally diverse student body. Lehman College is accredited by Board of Regents, University of the State of New York; Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools; Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education; Association of University Programs in Health Administration; American Chemical Society; Professional State Accreditation in Teaching; the National League for Nursing; American Speech Language Hearing Association; National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education; and the Council on Social Work Education.
